Challenge Accepted! Freestyle Side Breathing

Fact of the week: When timed properly, breathing to the side in freestyle is the most efficient way to get oxygen. Looking forward or lifting the head to breathe causes the bottom/hips to sag which takes the body out of the ideal horizontal swimming position. Side breathing keeps the body relatively flat because the head rotates instead of lifting.

How does my child move up? Come to every swim class, bring your progress report, earn those stickers, and ask your child's instructor or location's deck manager if you have questions.

Have a wonderful and safe Spring Break!
