Intro To Swim Strokes: Butterfly

Sigma Swimming
Hi Sigma Swim and Stroke Schoolers!

Over the past 6 weeks, we've been introducing the 4 strokes, starting with Freestyle, Backstroke, and Breaststroke. This week's swim tip brings us to the popular and often misunderstood stroke that is introduced in Level 7 of the Sigma Swim School: BUTTERFLY.

Fact of the week : For the non-swimmer, Butterfly is considered one of the hardest strokes to learn. However, for coaches, butterfly can be one of the easier strokes to teach and learn. Butterfly is often mischaracterized because of two key components that help a swimmer succeed: Timing and rhythm. Watch the video above for a little more detail!

How does my child move up? Come to every swim class, bring your progress report, earn those stickers, and ask your child's instructor or location's deck manager if you have questions.
